Certification Testing

Earlbeck Gases & Technologies offers testing for certification to any welding code. Unlike the plumbing or electrical crafts, welding certification is not a "license". Many welded components are not required to follow a code; therefore, no certification is required.

Welding codes are written for a particular industry or product type such as Structural Steel, Sheet Metal, Aluminum or Stainless Steel; Boilers, Pressure Vessels and Piping Systems; Aerospace Welding; and many more. Each of these codes requires a welder to prove they are qualified by passing a Welder Performance Qualification Test. Many of these codes require that a company prove the methods they intend to use on a weldment will produce a mechanically sound joint by writing and testing a Welding Procedure Specification. This WPS is required for a particular set of variables whether a company has one welder or one hundred.

We can assist you in complying with any of these requirements.

If you need to be certified as a welder, we will need to know what welding code is being applied, what welding process you intend to use, material types and thickness and what positions you will use in production. Call us with this information and we will structure the test that is right for your needs.

Certification testing is done on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting at 8:00am. Once you have booked an appointment for testing, click here (what to expect-testing) for directions and information about what to expect when you arrive.
