DO I qualify for free welding programs? 
The majority of the free or heavily discounted classes offered through Earlbeck depend on grants, scholarships, and occasional sponsorships. Because of the wide variety of financial aid sourcing, requirements for each can vary. Be sure to thoroughly read through the eligibility requirements on each opportunity to see if it is right for you!

Do free classes cover the same material as paid classes?
In most cases, yes! Students using scholarship money for specific courses will be placed in the classroom and shop alongside students paying full price out of pocket.

Exceptions may include city or state funded welding cohorts with a mission in mind- think bridge (someone's gotta build a new Key Bridge) or other building cohorts. These courses may be tailored towards a specific learning goal that deviates from our general class structure, but rest assured that all opportunities for free training meet our same high standards for curriculum, hands-on practice, and expert guidance from qualified teachers!

Pennsylvania:
All welding courses offered in Pennsylvania are Johnson College Continuing Education programs delivered at Earlbeck’s York, PA facility under Johnson College’s licensure and academic oversight. Johnson College manages registration, tuition, refunds, and student records for Pennsylvania programs.

Maryland:
In Maryland, welding classes are offered to the public through Earlbeck’s instructional partnerships with Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) and Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC). These programs are administered through the respective colleges, which oversee enrollment, academic standards, and student records.

Intermediate and Advanced welding classes offered through our college partnerships include certification testing as part of the course. Students must pass all required tests in accordance with AWS and ASME code standards to earn welder certification.
