Breathe Easy with Optrel's Swiss Air PAPR

Anyone working in an industry where airborne particulates or dangerous chemicals are present knows just how important proper PPE is for their continued health and wellbeing. Especially in the welding and metal working sector, the need for effective respiratory protection cannot be overstated. Recognizing this need, Optrel introduces the Swiss Air Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) system, setting new standards in safety, comfort, and performance!

While there are tons of other respiratory protection on the market, there’s a litany of reasons that Earlbeck Gases recommends this PAPR system in particular. We really believe the Swiss Air delivers on the promise to meet the rigorous demands of industrial environments, but when dealing with something as important as respirator protection just our word might not be enough for you- so let’s dig into the facts together!

The Swiss Air Unit goes beyond traditional safety measures. Equipped with a high-performance TH3 certified particle master filter, it effectively removes harmful airborne particles and gases, ensuring a clean and safe breathing environment. It boasts that 99.8% of all harmful particles, aerosols, vapors, smoke or even viruses are reliably filtered out of the breathing air. This type of filtration can come in handy in a variety of applications but we find that 99.8 percentage brings real peace of mind when it comes to something like welding stainless steel, where the chromium exposure potential is high without the right precautions.

Plus, unlike conventional PAPR systems that require manual checks and air-flow documentation, one of Swiss Air’s standout features is that it automatically assesses airflow quality upon activation. An audible alarm will sound for a clogged filter, no filter, and low flow, ensuring safety without the guesswork.

The Optrel Swiss Air PAPR system redefines respiratory protection with its unique backpack-style design, distinct from the traditional belt-mounted units. The super-light filter system, clocking in at less than 1.5lbs, and this ergonomic approach evenly distributes the weight across the shoulders- making sure you’re comfortable for your whole shift.

Optrel goes the extra mile in ensuring breathability and comfort. The ventilated half-mask, made from flame-retardant materials, covers the mouth and nose area completely while maintaining positive pressure to support easy breathing and reduce fatigue.

This system is engineered for versatility. It fits seamlessly under your welding helmet, making it a universal solution for various applications, like welding, cutting, grinding metal, to working in laboratories and healthcare settings. The Swiss Air adapts to your needs, providing fresh, filtered air, independent of other protective equipment.

The high-tech machine washable fabric and freely adjustable headband eliminates the need for mask fit tests- this not only means that the user doesn’t have to be clean shaven for a perfect fit, but it also allows for easy maintenance and the ability for the unit to hygienically have more than one user.

  • Automatic Altitude and Temperature Compensation: it automatically adapts to your working environment, ensuring optimal performance everywhere.
  • TH3 Certified Particle Master Filter: Offers superior filtration, removing 99.8% of harmful particles, aerosols, and vapors, safeguarding against respiratory diseases.
  • High-Performance Battery: You can work uninterrupted for up to 14 hours!
  • Adjustable Airflow: Customize the air flow from 100-130 l/min for maximum comfort without compromising protection.
  • Central Control Panel: Securely positioned on the chest section of the shoulder strap, you always have an overview of filter contamination,  battery charge status, air flow control, on/off switch, + altitude & temperature compensation at your fingertips.

Choosing Optrel means you’re committed to the highest standards of workplace safety, comfort, and performance. Built to last with Swiss precision engineering, Optrel’s products are designed to withstand the demands of any job. Their Swiss Air unit is more than just a piece of safety equipment; it is a solution that addresses all the needs of modern industrial professionals. Its innovative features, combined with the ergonomic design, automatic safety checks, and long-lasting battery life ensures that your protection is uninterrupted, enabling you to focus on the task at hand with full confidence, significantly boosting workday productivity.
Let the Swiss Air PAPR system be your partner in navigating the complexities of hazardous work environments, empowering you to perform at your best while staying protected!
