In the world of welding, sometimes power and performance come at the cost of convenience. Traditional welding systems rely heavily on power sources to keep a stable arc, making off-grid welding a challenge. Which is why we’d like to tell you a little bit about Fronius’ AccuPocket- a groundbreaking battery-powered welder that provides high-performance welding with or WITHOUT access to electricity!
We’ve been a fan of the AccuPocket for years- we even did a video review of it back in 2019- and we’re consistently surprised to find that many are unaware of this revolutionary solution! For those in the construction industry, infrastructure repair, or any welding job that requires true mobility, this is a game-changer! Let’s explore what makes the Fronius AccuPocket a standout tool!
Picture
The AccuPocket is portable battery-powered welder that has options for both Stick and TIG welding. Its unique ability to operate independently from a power grid allows welders to perform jobs in remote locations without the need for heavy generators or long cumbersome power leads. This welder offers a versatile welding amperage range of 10-140 A for Stick and from 3-150 A for TIG, making it powerful enough for a wide variety of applications!

The AccuPocket incorporates the latest in battery technology that ensures a long lifespan, no memory effect, and low self-discharge, allowing for extended use in the field without frequent recharging. Built for the toughest environments, it has an integrated dust filter, raised feet to prevent water damage, and sturdy housing that makes it highly durable. It’s also compact and lightweight, weighing only 24.25 lbs without the charger, making it a breeze to transport!

Three Operating Modes for Maximum Flexibility!

Picture
Battery Mode: Completely off-grid welding with enough power for up to 18 electrodes or 17 minutes of TIG welding at 150 A on a single charge!

Hybrid Mode: Simultaneous charging and welding when connected to a power source, ensuring that the arc remains stable, even with fluctuating power!

Generator Mode: When larger jobs require extended time, the AccuPocket can run on a generator as small as 2 kVA, making it suitable for remote areas!

At the heart of the AccuPocket’s performance is AccuBoost Technology, which enhances arc stability and overall welding quality. This technology uses high short-circuit currents to ensure easy ignition and smooth arc operation, preventing electrode sticking, and ensuring consistent weld quality regardless of battery status. It’s compatible with a wide range of electrodes, including rutile, basic, and CEL electrodes, allowing for greater versatility in welding projects. Whether working on a construction site or performing delicate TIG welding, this tool provides the same level of performance as a traditional mains-powered welder.
One of the standout features of the AccuPocket is its rapid charging capability. A quick 30-minute charge brings the battery up to 80% capacity, meaning you can quickly get back to work after downtime. The built-in battery management system ensures that all cells are monitored for uniform charging and discharging, protecting the battery from overcharging, deep discharge, or overheating. With a battery capacity of 400 Wh, you can expect up to 17 minutes of continuous TIG welding at full power, or Stick welding with up to 18 electrodes per charge

Perfect for professionals who need off-grid welding CAPABILITIES! Ideal for:

  • Construction sites where electricity may be limited or unavailable
  • Repair and maintenance jobs on farms, infrastructure, or heavy machinery
  • Remote locations like sewer construction, pipeline work, or shipbuilding
  • Hazardous areas where mains-powered welders present an electrical risk
  • Anywhere and everywhere that welding is needed!

If you’re looking for a portable, high-performance welder that allows you to work without power grid limitations, Fronius’ AccuPocket is the solution! Whether you’re tackling a quick repair or working on a long-term construction project, the AccuPocket offers the flexibility, power, and portability that modern welders need!
