Key Bridge Skilled Trades Scholarship Opportunity!

Maryland residents can now tap into more than $500,000 in tuition support through the  ​Francis Scott Key Bridge Trade and Apprenticeship Scholarships. Funded by Central Scholarship, in partnership with the Baltimore Community Foundation, and delivered through  training partners like the Earlbeck Technical Center, this program makes top-tier trades education more accessible than ever.

After the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in 2024, a variety of infrastructural problems affecting Maryland's economic growth were highlighted and improvement plans are now on the horizon. This scholarship fund was launched to build pathways for Marylanders to enter the trades that will power the state's rebuild and future growth.

Eligibility Requirements

• Be a Maryland resident
• Have a high school diploma or a GED
• Plan to enroll in a non-degree certificate program such as Earlbeck's Technical Center's comprehensive welder training program 
  • with the goal of securing employment in that trade,
  • or are employed in the trade and need additional training to advance your skills

There is no specific application deadline for the scholarship. Applications are accepted on a rolling/continuous basis.
