Level up your welding career with Earlbeck's welding test kits to become a certified welder- no matter where you are! To help make testing at your own facility a breeze, we can provide you with test coupons and practice test coupons for a variety of welding codes- just ask!

But for those testing to AWS D1.1 - Structural Welding Code, we have complete test kits available for immediate purchase! These convenient kits include test coupons, backing bars, practice coupons, a guide, and a test data form! They’re available in either Limited or Unlimited thickness in 1 or 2 positions, in the SMAW or FCAW process.

To conduct a test using one of our test kits:

​1. Purchase an AWS D1.1 kit below
2. Follow an approved Welding Procedure Specification* and perform the welding to code
3. Completely fill out the corresponding form
4. Send completed test coupon and form to us
5. If your test passes, we will mail you your test results within 5-7 business days.

​*AWS D1.1 weld test requires that a welder follows an approved WPS when completing the test and that a company has its own WPS for production work. Four Prequalified WPS’s are included for use and valid for this testing only. They cannot be used by you for production work.  If you do not have a valid production WPS and would like us to help you prepare one, please contact our Engineering Department.

The included Welding Procedure Specifications are:
 - 3/8" Plate welded with 3/32", 1/8" or 5/32" E7018 Electrodes
 - 1" Plate welded with 3/32", 1/8" or 5/32" E7018 Electrodes
 - 3/8" Plate welded with 0.045" or 0.052" E71T-1M Wire with 75% Ar/25% CO2 Shielding Gas
 - 1" Plate welded with 0.045", 0.052" or 1/16" E71T-1M Wire with 75% Ar/25% CO2 Shielding Gas

Pennsylvania:
All welding courses offered in Pennsylvania are Johnson College Continuing Education programs delivered at Earlbeck’s York, PA facility under Johnson College’s licensure and academic oversight. Johnson College manages registration, tuition, refunds, and student records for Pennsylvania programs.


Maryland:
In Maryland, welding classes are offered to the public through Earlbeck’s instructional partnerships with Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) and Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC). These programs are administered through the respective colleges, which oversee enrollment, academic standards, and student records.

Intermediate and Advanced welding classes offered through our college partnerships include certification testing as part of the course. Students must pass all required tests in accordance with AWS and ASME code standards to earn welder certification.
