Welder Training Program Overview

Picture
Build practical welding skills through Earlbeck’s hands-on training programs offered in partnership with CCBC or AACC in Maryland, and through Johnson College in Pennsylvania*.

Industry-Recognized Certification Testing
As an American Welding  Society (AWS) Accredited Test Facility (ATF), students train for industry-recognized certifications that employers value most.  Intermediate or Advanced students may qualify based on demonstrated readiness. Credentials awarded upon successful completion of required testing.

Trusted Educational Facility
Earlbeck is also the proud recipient of the AWS “Excellence in Welding Award” in the Educational Facility category, recognizing our commitment to industry leadership. In  a survey of 879 prior students, 99% said they'd recommend the program to a family or friend.

Whether you’re building new skills or pursuing a welding career, Earlbeck’s* accelerated programs in Maryland and Pennsylvania provide expert instruction, AWS-accredited testing, and extensive hands-on experience to help you achieve your goals.

FUNDAMENTALS OF WELDING
Kickstart your future in the skilled trades with our Fundamentals of Welding course, designed to teach the core techniques of major welding processes. This hands-on training course covers the essential skills you need to get started, including MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), and Stick welding (SMAW).

WELDING BLUEPRINT READING
Recommended alongside the Fundamentals course, Welding Blueprint Reading teaches essential concepts such as measurements, welding symbols, joint types, and tolerances. These skills support technical understanding and are valuable for progression into more advanced training.

INTERMEDIATE WELDING
After completing the introductory courses, choose an Intermediate Welding course in one of the core processes: Stick, MIG, or TIG. These intermediate courses are designed to prepare you for plate certification to industry-recognized AWS welding codes.  Eligibility for testing depends on demonstrated readiness and skill development.
  • Intermediate Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW/Stick)
  • Intermediate Shielded Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW/TIG)
  • Intermediate Shielded Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW/MIG)

ADVANCED WELDING - PIPE
Upon completion of an Intermediate level course, you can advance your skills with our Advanced Welding Courses in the same process. These classes focus on pipe welding techniques and include ASME welder certification exams. Certification is awarded only upon successful completion of all required testing.
  • Advanced Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW/Stick)
  • Advanced Shielded Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW/TIG)
  • Advanced Shielded Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW/MIG)

CAREER TRACK PACKAGE DEALS
Choose from two convenient package options* designed to streamline your path to certification:
  • Fundamentals of Welding with any Intermediate Welding  (MIG, TIG, or Stick),
  • Fundamentals of Welding with Blueprint Reading and any Intermediate Welding (MIG, TIG, or Stick)
*package pricing availability is dependent on location and partnering institution
