Welding Certification Cost

Prior to taking a welding test, most people want to know: how much does a welding certification cost? With so many different certification tests available, this can be a difficult question to answer. We cover some general pricing guidelines below, but costs do vary depending on the code you are testing for.

Additionally, we offer the option of selecting the AWS Accredited Test Facility (ATF) Upgrade. The testing process remains the same, but with this upgrade your certification can be taken to any employer without having to re-certify. Using the AWS WeldCert Pro platform, you'll have convenient digital access to your certifications and continuity log from anywhere and any device! You'll also be registered in the AWS certified welder registry that employers can search to find qualified welders.

The pricing listed below covers some of the most common welding certification tests that can be done at our facility. Included in this price is all of the materials necessary for testing.

We offer welder certification testing at the locations listed below. Testing begins at 8AM on Thursdays and Fridays and you can either schedule your appointment by calling us or by submitting an inquiry below.

***On the day of the test, please bring a picture ID, and all your required PPE. This includes your gloves, jacket, safety glasses, welding shield, and proper welding attire. You must also provide your own hand tools, such as a grinder and the grinding wheels that you prefer***

Pennsylvania:
All welding courses offered in Pennsylvania are Johnson College Continuing Education programs delivered at Earlbeck’s York, PA facility under Johnson College’s licensure and academic oversight. Johnson College manages registration, tuition, refunds, and student records for Pennsylvania programs.

Maryland:
In Maryland, welding classes are offered to the public through Earlbeck’s instructional partnerships with Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) and Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC). These programs are administered through the respective colleges, which oversee enrollment, academic standards, and student records.

Intermediate and Advanced welding classes offered through our college partnerships include certification testing as part of the course. Students must pass all required tests in accordance with AWS and ASME code standards to earn welder certification.
