Proper tacks and feather edging, filler metal angles and manipulations for open root pipe welding are taught. Class will consist of welding on carbon steel pipe with the GMAW-SC and FCAW processes. Training will be with ER70S solid wire short circuit transfer GMAW down bead root with E71T-1 flux cored wire hot and fill passes, upward progression. Practice is geared toward certification to ASME IX, Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code in the 6G position on carbon steel.

ATF Test Upgrade

$275.00

Exclusive offer for Intermediate and Advanced SMAW and Intermediate GMAW Students! Upgrade to an ATF Test for only $275.00 (a $680.00 value!)

An ATF certification test offers the same qualification as the standard AWS or ASME test you will be administered in class, but this certification places the welder in the AWS public database which can be accessed by anyone looking for a certified welder.

What this also means is that your certification would be valid for any potential employer. The net benefit to the welder is that he/she is more marketable in the workplace because a prospective employer would not be required to have you tested again for the same qualification/certification. For additional details, speak with your instructor.
